Drug Use

I am hoping we can have all three levels of Government take the problem of drug use in Victoria and Nanaimo seriously at last. We have been waiting for them to take serious action for a long time.
More and more of our young people are turning to using drugs like Crystal Meth. This drug can screw you up good due to all the caustic chemicals used to make it. Drain cleaners, lye and other poisonous substances are added to the mix to make this drug.
All the ingrediants are man-made and as such do not break down in the body as they need to, to prevent further harm.
This year, 2004, we need decisive leadership from our governments and the community.

After all the lame attention marriage has received in (mostly right-wing) media, I hope you don't go there. Why not let gay youth put together a forum? Their needs.

Go ahead and give me your ideas. I am a sponge here. As I wrote earlier, no forum topic or issue has been picked. What would you see the forum looking like. Would it be Gay Youth generally or a specific issue that gay youth have to face. Would you like to help out with such a forum?

Cool Chip. Why not put Executive Director of AVI on a panel with youth members or something to show your serious about youth comitment?? After a movie about young guys with aIDS?

What a forum on gay marriage give me a break. That is so old and it doesn't matter anyway, what about things that really matter to guys like fucking bareback and hiv and when to stop using condoms. Most guys in relationships don't use condoms and lots of guys are fucking bareback anyway. What about that? Gay marriage, yawn.

STD's could also be a topic of discussion. Syphillis is becoming very serious and we need to find a way to slow it down. Hep A and Hep B are also something we as sexually active gay men need to look after. Both can be prevented if we take the free shots being offered!
Goverment is a not.
I don't think that the goverment is going to do squat. If gay men want to do something about getting totally screwed up on drugs then gay men are going to have to do it. Crystal is getting way outta control and its going to kill us off. Waiting for the govermnent to do something something is a waste of time, what is the goverment doing about it now? Nothing. Well the problem has been there for a long time. Why don't you have a forum or a group or something about crystal or something improtant and NOT gay marriage.
